EDIT* POSTER IS NO LONGER OFFERING WARRANTY*
It's Jerry Smith from Royal Volkswagen of Birmingham. (Yes, A real brick-and-mortar VW Dealership located in Birmingham, Alabama).
After taking a bit more time off from Club Touareg than expected, I'm back.
The rigors of keeping up with on-lot sales and other responsibilities kept me from offering warranties, but now I'm back and better than ever.
I offer the VW Real Driver --or as it's now called- the VW Drive Easy Warranty-- at $100 over my cost.
Touaregs are not inexpensive and neither are their warranties. The 7 year/100,000 mile Platinum Extended warranty can run between $2-4000 or more depending on the age and miles currently on the vehicle. But, because of the technology on the Touaregs, major repairs can run well beyond that range, so having a warranty that extends beyond the factory warranty can be a financial lifesaver.
The VW Drive easy warranty is offered by Fidelity Warranty company, and can be used at over 5000 locations, and not just at your VW dealership.
The VW Drive Easy Warranty can be financed with 20% down for up to 18 months with auto-debit from your checking or credit card, making it very affordable to own.
I only ask 2 things:
As a real-life person, and AVID VW fanatic and owner, I ask that you realize that I'm not a computerized quote machine. Each quote takes a few minutes- and I get them done usually at the end of each business day when I'm finally able to sit down at my computer.
So-- with that in mind...
1. I'm simply not able to provide numerous quotes for cars you don't yet own.
One or two quotes is fine when you are getting to the final stages of a vehicle choice, but when it gets to 5 or more "just to see what the price would be" it's time for a hobby.
To assist in ball parking generalized prices without an exact vehicle, I'll post a few examples of engine/model/mileages on this thread.
2. I realize that some people feel pressure to buy a warranty from the dealership's finance department just to keep in the dealership's 'good graces'.
Please don't use my quote to negotiate with your local dealership. If they offer a lower price first, without prompting
then please take it.
But, as discussed in depth on most VW sites at one time or another, anyone can offer to price match, but why not reward the person who steps out on a limb and offers a VERY reasonable price-- first-- without making you jump through hoops in order to get it.
In each of our chosen careers we all want to be afforded a level of consideration after investing our time and knowledge, and not have it used in order to to give someone else business.
I'll post a few more details in subsequent posts.
