Touareg 7L 3.0L V6TDI, Can't access 04-Basic Settings (035 Fuel Supply Pump Activatio

Dear all,

I have an Touareg 7L 3.0L V6TDI. Iím trying to purge air from the fuel system after the change of an fuel filter. I first tried to do it with cloned Ross-Tech cable without success. It didnít connect to my car by any manner.. I rented a genuine cable with latest VCDS on a laptop. When I run the Options test it results K1: OK, K2:OK, CAN: Not ready. I were able to read the fault codes and carry out the Output test for for fuel pump relay control circuit. However, I couldnít access the 035 Fuel Supply Pump Activation. In the drop down menu thereís only a Charge Pressure Control available.

From fault codes I found:

Address 05: Acc/Start Auth. Labels: 3D0-909-13x-05.lbl
Part No SW: 3D0 909 135 N HW: 5WK 470 21
Component: Kessy 6610
Revision: 66105312 Serial number: VWZ3Z0E1314436
Coding: 0000232
Shop #: WSC 31414 000 00000
VCID: 306E927EA0EE13CF25-5140

Subsystem 1 - Part No: XXXXXXXXXXX
Component: ELV XXXX

2 Faults Found:
00172 - Key 2 not learned
008 - Implausible Signal - Intermittent
01299 - Diagnostic Interface for Data Bus (J533)
005 - No or Incorrect Basic Setting / Adaptation Ė Intermitten

The Fuel Supply Pump Activation is under 04-Basic Settings...

Does anyone know whatís the matter?

Accessing some functions security key is required but this shouldnít be one..?

If I need to run the pumps manually now, can I just short the relays or do I really have to dig them out under the seat and hood to run them?

Thanks for advance!!!

I can't even follow what you're saying or asking as you've listed so many different things.

Did the vehicle run prior to you changing the filter? If so, you should be able to get away without purging..... I've never purged my 2L in all of it's 254k worth of filter changes.....

If you have CAN bus connection issue that already existed, this might be part of you not being able to "reach" some modules, etc.
The fact that you're getting a J533 error is making me believe that you have some wiring\connection issues that you need to sort out before you can make proper use of the VCDS or the fake cable.....

Thanks for the answer! And sorry for being not so clear with my explanation. It did run prior to filter change but it gave me this fuel system fault signals (double pigtails) and the engine stopped few times always after that. The filter were bit dirty and there were some leak on the filter housing. The system were also open overnigh during the change if that is woth of mentioning.

I also found these from the fault list:

5 Faults Found:
004195 - Fuel Pressure Regulation
P1063 - 001 - Control Range Not Reached - Intermittent

Any suggestions where I should start with?

So was your filter canister completely empty when you out the fresh filter in?
Is there a possibility that you had debris in the canister that might've gotten past the new filter? You should theoretically be able to just cycle the key a few times to get fuel to the canister with the lift pump, then crack the filter canister open again to ensure that you've got fuel in it. If you really think you have an airlock, you could crack some of the fuel lines or the return line.... Just seems odd.

I can't really suggest where to start chasing the obd connector as I don't know the history of the car or when or if that connector worked last.... Could be tons of things.

Is this a flood damaged vehicle or something along those lines?

Hi, Thanks again! It was completely empty and cleaned from all the debris. I didn't pour the old fuel back to the canister. Despite I couldn't run the 035 Fuel Supply Pump Activation I were able to run Output test for for fuel pump relay control circuit and for me it sounded like it's pumping the fuel as well. " You should theoretically be able to just cycle the key a few times to get fuel to the canister with the lift pump" If you mean without starting the engine, it doesn't work on this model. I already tried it.

I don't know it's complete history. I'ts exported and I'm the second owner here. There has been odd electric faluts before so something like that could have happened..
