Questions about 2017 Wolfsburg VCDS Options

Hi all,

I just purchased a 2017 Wolfsburg Touareg. I own two other VWs and VCDS. I'm an expert VCDS user.

1. From reading several threads here, I find that my vehicle does NOT have power folding mirrors or memory seats. Is this correct? I was hoping to enable the rear passenger mirror to tilt down when in reverse. One thread seem to indicate that you can replace the mirrors with those from an executive edition to get this. Is this correct?

2. The 'Green Menu' in the MMI is not available, correct? I cannot even access the controller in 5F. I DO have the RNS850.

Thanks.

The tilt options never fully worked for me. Swapping in Exec mirrors is an option. It's on my eventual to-do list. Green menu can definitely be enabled. Can't remember which module specifically but I enabled it in my 2017 wolfsburg as well.

I have been thinking reading this thread that these cars are produced with all sorts of options that VW in it's infinite decides which ones you will get. Why not let the buyer make the decision and have the dealer enable it? Needing to play games with electronic tools is pretty dumb. It is what it is I suppose, but sometimes the Co gets too cute and cause issues that are unneeded and expensive like the emissions issue.

Tilt down mirror is a power mirror function and should not require folding mirrors.
The mirror knob needs to be set on R for it to work when in reverse once you activate curb view.

Use VagCom to activate the green menu block "5F - Electronics " => "10 - Adaption" => "Channel 6" => set to "1", press Test and then Save.
Go to this menu by simultaneously pressing the CAR + SETUP for a few seconds until you see "Loading Green Menu", then menu appears

I'd look up the definition of expert if you're going to throw that term around.... just sayin....

First, no need to be snarky in your reply....just saying.

As noted earlier I cannot access 5F. It says controller not found.

I know how to use the mirrors and I found the check boxes to enable certain features, including tilt down in reverse. I have the same instructions in my manual. I don't have memory seats, so that menu option isn't available to me on the RNS850 no matter what I enable in VCDS.

This is why I asked specifically about a 2017 Wolfsburg Edition. It seems some features have changed.

Thanks.

Cant even access 5F? Thats quite strange..something definitely wrong here.
To clarify did you buy this wolfsburg from someone (preloved?)

Was the unit ever removed, changed or cables disconnected? And is it functioning normally?
If you run a complete scan what errors are you getting?
Whats setup in your can gateway btw?

You should be able to get to 5f and also enable green screen menu normally.
Post a complete scan pls

V8 TDI R line MY15, White, Panoramic roof, VW towbar. Dynamic Road Sign Recognition, Lane Assist, Traffic Reports, Google Earth enabled. All Led.

I was finally able to access 5F. There was a no communication/intermittent fault code, when, once cleared, allowed me to access that module. I enabled the green menu by the Setup+Car button combo.

I can't post a full scan. It exceeds 20000 characters and will not allow me to reply to thread.

You can upload a txt file rather than pasting.
Have you tried clearing this error, does it come back?
Are there any other faults across other modules?

It has not come back since I cleared it. I did some further digging, and the passenger side mirror dip is not possible without the door memory module. See link below, this is for a MKVII Golf, but I'm sure the same principle applies. I did not see any indication of the memory module installed in my T3:

I have the same car, and I upgraded the mirrors to the executive version. The tilt down WILL work, however... Because we don't have memory seats the mirror will not reposition itself after switching out of drive (it doesn't remember where you like your mirrors). I upgraded to executive because I wanted power folding mirrors.. and that function is working great!

So, now I am so close to having area view that I would like to finish the upgrade, just too chicken to do it.
