Trailer control module wiring help 2016 TDI sport

Anyone with a 2015 or newer Treg that have had the rear quarter panel apart for trailer wiring install? - Cannot find the correct module to fit my pre-wired plugs - I'm trying to figure out the correct module or if I have a factory wiring mistake - dealer can't answer the question.

I do have the product code 1D8 on the build sheet for pre-installed trailer wiring. This is for a Canadian(North American) receiver type hitch.

I installed a hitch and ekit harness in my Treg. included in the kit is a 7P0 907 383 F module and a jumper for the Canbus 3 high & low. However, I have a 6 pin connector and 10 pin connector factory wired in my 2016, rather than the 12 pin "Red Plug" of earlier 7P's (behind the right side luggage area).

According to the VW wiring diagrams from Erwin the 6 pin & 10 pin plugs are used in the 2015 and newer model year - so that checks out. but how to connect it to modules with 12 pin receptacles??

I checked 7P0907383F module and it's not supposed to fit mY2016. Dealer orders the part that is supposed to be for 2015-2017 Tregs part no 4H0907383NZ02.

4H0907383NZ02 has two 12 pin receptacles on the treg side and the same16 pin receptacles for the trailer harness - VW parts also call it a "parking assist control module" - I'm guessing the 2nd 12 pin is for parking assist etc. I do not have parking assist or other electronic aids in my TDI sport.

I've combed through the electrical documents in Erwin and cannot find any info on how to match up 6 pin & 10 pin plugs to the available modules 12 pin receptacle. Dealer say's no other trailer control modules or wiring harness jumpers w plugs to fit & has run out of answers - So I'm reaching out.

Thanks

I'm no expert but that sounds like the wrong module.

Update - The hitch parts come from Westphalia Automotive (Towbar in Euro speak) - so visited the Westphalia site. They have a kit to fit the facelift 08/2014-10/2017 Treg but it's for Euro 13 pin tow connectors.

- So I'm searching for a North American Westfalia Automotive supplier for the 7 pin kit or individual parts- - anyone?

The Westfalia numbers or VW equivalents are not on any of the online north American VW parts supplier. When I call them for these parts, no luck. Can't acccess ETKA.

If I can source the molded 24 pin connector (#5) I can make the older pre -08/2014 hitch wiring harness work...

here's the Euro kit-

Touareg 7P 08/14-10/17 Part number: 321766300113

Wiring kit 13 pin

It appears the correct module (made by Hella) is indeed VW part. 4H0907383 - have not figured out the significance of the suffix L/M/N/Z02 yet.

- It matches up with the T6ax & T10ab plugs of trailer prep wiring in the 08/2014-10/2017 Tregs.

But it needs the correct 24 pin plug on the hitch harness to work, not the commonly available 16 pin plug an the earlier harness/control module. - Getting closer!

Find a wrecked EXEC and chop the harness out of it... or the plug only
