Volkswagen Finally Switching to USB Ports
Next year Volkswagen will finally catch up to the rest of the auto industry when it comes to in-car technology.
The German automaker plans on replacing its media device interface (MDI) with standard USB ports, which are universally used for electronic devices such as smartphones and tablets. The companyís current MDI uses iPhone and iPod-specific jacks for charging and while thatís great for Apple users, it is an annoyance for Google Android device owners because they have to purchase a separate USB adapter in order use their devices.
