Wipers not working.

hi all,

i have been serching fourms for hours now but i cant seem to find a stright awnser
i have 2006 v6 touareg and the wipers do not work, the rear wipers and the screen washers work but the front wipers do not work at any postion.
after serching fourms i have found that this problem in common but in some peoples cases the stereo stops working too but not in my case, my stereo works fine its just the wipers.
there is no fault lights on the dash, all the fuses are ok, its not the bonnet switch and i have tested the wiper motor and it is not getting any power so the motor is ok.
i have been trying to find the wiper relay but i cant find out which one it is, can anyone tell me which relay is for the wipers?
has anybody had this problem and had it successfully fixed?

thanks a lot.

There is no relay. You need to connect VAG com or other diagnostic equipment and look for fault codes inside. Also with VAG com you can also make wiper test.

John, did you ever find out what was causing your wipers to stop working?

I have exactly the same problem you have described.

Rear wipers and washer jets work.
However, my front wipers stopped working a few days ago.
Radio works fine.
Bonnet is definitely closed (no indicator on)
Front windscreen wiper fuse is intact.

Thanks,
Grant

Bump from the past.

Same issue here. No windshield wipers. Fluid comes out fine, rear works fine but no wipey wipey.

Fuse is fine (replaced just to make sure as I've been burned by ones that "looked fine" but were not) and checked it with a meter to confirm.

Unlpugged stereo amp from rear of vehicle, still no wipers and now no sound either. plugged back in.

open and closed hood a few times, no messages that it's open or warnings (at least when it's closed, and I get the beep when I lock the doors). No changes to the radio in the recent past (but gave it a good push just for good measure).

I"ll probably try to get into the motor tomorrow and see if it's getting power and check the linkages. I moved the arms around a bit to see if it just wasn't sensing that they were down or closed or something but nothing...

anyone seen a writeup or know how difficult it will be to replace the wiper motor? or have a good place in the US to get one besides the dealer?

opening the hood??

seriously when the hood is up the warning on the dash lights up and shows the hood open. When I close it, the warning goes away. I did this a few times just to move the system up and down and confirm that the warning was lit up when the hood was open and went away when it was closed.

wasn't sure where the actual switch was but if you think it would still be a point to consider I'll check it out for sure.
