Want to get 1st Touareg.

Hello, my name is John and i live in Chicago, IL. Im thinking to buy my 1st Touareg. I've wanted this car since 2008 and now i decided that is time.

I'm looking for 2004-2006 V8. its not going to be my daily car. Im a truck driver so i will drive it only when im home. Thats why i want a V8.

Or should i pay a little bit more and get T2?
or TDI?

The thing is that, some of my friends tells me not to buy it because they are not so good. I know that this is German luxury car and its not for everybody.
The thing is that i can afford it. And why not to drive one of your dream car?

Whats major issues on this model?
What should i pay more attention when i get it?

Thank you

Find a 2008 V8, spend a little more and you'll end up much happier in the long run.

There were many little improvements made to the T2. If you like the T1 I wouldn't go any older than a 2006 if you can afford it.

The 2007s have the updated V8 from the T2.

Spend a little more and get a T2. I've owned both T1 and T2 and the T2 is a much improved vehicle. Plus the 350 HP V8 FSI is an awesome motor.

Get the V8 FSI or even the 3.6 and enjoy but do take out a good warranty.

I have had a 2004 v8, a 2006 v6 and now a 2008 v8. By far love the T2 2008 v8 the best yet. Good luck with ur search! I agree get a T2 it will be well worth it!
