Sell or Trade 2005?

I've done a little research on maintenance issues surrounding my 2005 V6; however, I've found this forum has an abundance of information and I would appreciate any advice one could provide. I've already replaced brakes, rotors, and tires at 28K, which seems routine for these vehicles. A couple thousand miles later and there goes the center bearing issue and driver shaft replacement. I purchased the vehicle new and realized the cost of ownership was high, but the last few months have been rough on the wallet. I guess my question is two part. What other potential maintenance issues do I have to look forward to and should I sell or trade this vehicle I like with only 31K?

As long as the cost of maintenance is a lot less than the cost of buying something new, I'd be totally fine with things like you described, especially if you otherwise like the vehicle.

Having owned it since new, you know how it's been taken care of but with a used car you don't, and a new car presumably costs a lot more than the maintenance on yours.

Maybe you will start using the brakes less, i.e. easing off the throttle earlier so you don't have to use the brakes so long or as hard.

Thanks for the reply. I have looked at the cost of new vs. maintenance on current and totally agree. I just didn't know if there was any major mechanical issues reported on the 05's, which may offset the cost difference. Thanks Again!

Well, you must know it depends more on the type of person you are. Some people just like to continually move through vehicles, blowing lots of $ along the way on their purchase cost and sale/trade loss. Other people like to settle in to a vehicle. In some ways, it's less to deal with as long as you are not left stranded or otherwise inconvenienced too much.

At your annual mileage, ~6000/yr?, you ought to be able to make that vehicle last a really long time.

I would search on the v6 engine but you could also just chat with both a trusted service writer if you have a good dealer as well as the head tech about long term issues.
