Awesome in the snow!!!!

We are just thrilled with the performance of the Treg in snow-packed and icy conditions. It is amazing. The only 4x4 I have ever driven that comes even close is a Toyota 4Runner.

Here is a pic at the top of Rabbit Ears Pass, on the way to Steamboat Springs for some skiing over MLK weekend.

I am envious!!!! Steamboat is a favorite place.

Maybe one of the next two weekends we will head north.

It has been two awesome days....one more to go and it is snowing, hard. Hopefully we will have the opportunity to make some, first tracks, several runs of aspens before we need to head home.

My better half and three of my four kiddos....

I agree this is the best vehicle i have ever driven in the snow. Sad part is i think my Crown Vic police cruiser drives so bad I wish I could just drive my Touareg at work, LOL.

On the way home, we hit a heck of a blizzard leaving Breck, heading over Hoosier Pass.

The TregTDI.....performed amazingly.

The plows hadn't hit Hwy 9 yet.

Snow Train....

John,

What kind of tires do you have on your Treg? I haven't been overly impressed since we got ours in November. We've had a couple of storms in Denver and I experienced more slipping and the back end getting loose than I would have imagined from everyone's glowing reviews of how the Tregs drive in the snow. So my conclusion is it must be the tires. We have the 4x4 Continentals on that came with the Treg.

Tires, as you can imagine, make a pretty big difference, a good AT tire or a dedicated snow tire and the touareg is really unbelievably good in the white stuff

The wife stole it for her work commute this morning, but I am almost certain they are Goodyear Eagles.

I had the Michelin Latitude Tour HP in a 255/55/18 and they were great in the snow. Now I'm running Hankook Dynapro ATM RF10 265/60/18s, and they are absolutely unstoppable.
