Thanks noobytoogy, I priced them to sell (need to clear them out of the barn).

Forgot to mention in my post, that these will of course fit a Touareg (they are from our 2009 TDI). These 17" WRG3's are great in the snow and for all around driving.

A while back I bought some 17" Canyon wheels real cheap on Craigslist (17" tires are generally much cheaper than the 19" that were stock on my 2009). I quickly identified that the 17's provided better mileage also, and just stuck with that size (big wheels are not that important to me JMO).

Just as an FYI for those interested, If you are able to find a set of 17" wheels, they will fit T1's and T2's (V10's being the exception). Great for winter setup.

It's worth noting these are in fact the Wrong size. The correct size is 235-65/17.

I'm having these very tires installed right now! I'm sitting in the tire store lobby... lol

QPower1, while 235 may be the standard size specified, there is a thing known as optional sizes, and the 245 had worked fine on our Touareg for several years when we still had it. "Wrong", size is a little mis-leading. Moot anyway, these are no longer available. I have a new Jeep TrailHawk with this size tire, so I am keeping them. Great Tires, along with the Hakka R2's (which I have for snows on all my vehicles).

Not sure why you’d opt to buy the wrong size that isn’t the correct fit according to the manufacturer... so simple to buy the right size. As an auto parts professional for 35 years, I don’t see any upside to doing so, especially when the correct 235-65/17 size is so readily available in this tire. Promoting deviations from appropriate sizes does have downside, as variations in size may cause clearance problems, but will change the speedometer and odometer readings. Using the correct size is the only way to go. And to be clear, 235-65/17 is the optional size as 255-60/17 is the default standard. As this tire is only available in the optional size, that becomes the only choice to make.
