No Headlights

I bought a 2005 Touareg. one headlight was flickering. The lenses were cloudy so I bought new assemblies and replaced them. They have new lights straight out of the box. Now I have no headlights. turn signals work, but no marker or headlights

I did not put the old ones back in. I had HID and that's what I put in. I didn't check the fuses or new lights. I saw posted that if the ballasts are changed dealer has to "code" them.

I had a real brain fart. New assemblies don't have the ballasts. I will buy new, but I need to take old ones out and check the pins.

Halogen bulbs don't have ballasts. Furthermore, you do not need to code any replacement ballasts.

It sounds like you had xenon headlight units but have bought halogen units.

They are not interchangeable and the light output would be a major downgrade too.

Put up the link for what you bought.

Just FYI for those who don't know. When you buy a new hid headlight assembly, you will not get the hid ballasts or the hid bulbs.
