New toy.

Im a Touareg virgin and bought myself a toy for the weekend "04 5ltr V10 diesel" I bought this purly blind as I drove it and fell in love with it, I have an issue, the front air con is not working at all, as in not blowing is this a different system or is there anything I've missed, the rear air con is working fine.
Thanking you in advance for any advice, also if there is anything I should be aware of ?

Wow - buying a 2004 V10 on a whim ... you're my new hero! In for a penny, in for a pound.

This probably isn't your problem, but when I got mine the situation was reversed. The fan was blowing at high speed and I couldn't turn it off. Turns out I had accidently pressed the button on the control panel that gave the driver control over the rear fans. All I was doing was adjusting the fans in the back. Check the manual and you'll see the buttons I'm talking about. If it were depressed then maybe you're only controlling the rear fans.

Then check the fuses for the blower motor.

Thanks guys, Dave unfortunatly the manual is not with the vehicle at the moment, dealer had misplaced it so I will try to source this on line, nooby, thanks for that link just had a heart attack 10k for the engine and s 30hr job, I fear I won't ever be replacing that! The drive is very smooth, no smoke from the engine on start up or running. Gear Change is smoother than my 64 plate B200 sport. Thing is you just can't help but to fall in love with the beast that is this car. It may be old but it certainly is a thoroughbred k_hand:

Here you go, the air con was a blower motor which I got no replaced for 80 the abs and brake assist is a worn sensor on the front near side tyre, now all that is left for this great machine to bring it back to full glory is replacement stereo buttons which are in eBay at the moment and a sat nav disc which I'm trying to source, oh and I cannot seem to get the TVS to tune in? Any ideas folks ? All this car for the bargain price of 4750.00 service was 520 ( 11.5 ltrs of oil !) new brake pads and new tyre.

I hope you are running with 4 IDENTICAL tyres as in same make, same model, same size, same tread pattern and with very similar tread depth. If not, you may be damaging the transmission.

Not a bad looking vehicle and I hope the V10 is as good. Nice list of extras, like keyless entry/start, Air Suspension and Xenon Headlamps. I can't help but notice that you have had a windscreen replaced as they have not reinstalled the caps over the nuts on the passengers wiper arm, and the drivers side arm in incorrectly positioned. Was this done by a non-VW shop?
