Cannot create new thread

So I finally registered, after reading this forum for several years. Figured I'd introduce myself in the New Members Introduction forum as recommended by the forum itself, but my thread is not being approved. What a warm welcome

Sorry to jump onto this thread but it looks like I cannot create any new threads of my own. I'm a long-time member but have been absent for a while. Currently using a Samsung Tablet S2.

I can only reply to an existing thread if I QUOTE an existing message. Otherwise can't see any way to do the Quick Reply that used to be available.

Help please.

seeing that you asked so eloquently....I'll give @Tech Admin a shout and see what they can do. And tadpole...we're not mind readers.

So...ask away.

Ok, Very simple ,If I want to start a new thread ,how do I do it? Usually there is a spot at the top of a section of threads that says "start new thread" I don't seem to be able to fund that spot. Thanks for the help. BTW way the QUICK REPLY is readily obvious.

There are 2 ways to quick reply on the forum. Please see the following:

Are you not able to replicate these functions on your tablet?

Hey there, that is correct.

If you go into General Discussions, there is a button that says "New Thread"

Size:	88.1 KB
ID:	215858

This will allow you to create a new thread in that section.
Are you not able to see this?

Ed

I now see a place for a new post in the drivers lounge, is that a proper place to post a new thread? I don't see a General discussion area at all. If I may be so bold, why not have a new thread spot in each area on the sight where there are different areas of interest.

I now have a place to post a new thread so thank you for the help.

Hi Tech Admin, the format that I see when I enter the site via the usual icon on both my tablet and my phone (Samsung S5) is very different to what I see when I use the hyperlink that is embedded in an email notification (such as the one which told me you had responded).

Entering via hyperlink I see all functionality as you have described. Quick Reply available under every Thread and New Thread available under every topic. Also I see details of each member that posts a comment. At bottom of page I see Posting Rules which say I can post a thread and a reply but cannot post attachments or edit my post. Odd - I used to be able to do all of these but now I can't show you a screen capture even via the hyperlink.

Entering via icon I see none of those features, no member details, just their name.

The only thing I can think of is that these days my default browser is Chrome. Previously I used to use the standard Google.
