2008 Touareg Radio question

I recently bought a used 2008 V6 F DOHC 24V Touareg, the carfax says it's a Touareg 2 3.6. Someone had replaced the factory stereo with a very nice but super complex Kenwood stereo with all the bells and whistles and I HATE IT see pic)! It causes some of the instrument panels to not work and all I want is the original stereo back. Can someone tell me the exact model number so I can find one and replace it? I would also give this stereo to someone willing to swap me. Thanks!

The Touareg 2 could have come with a variety of radios, among them are the Delta, the RNS2, the RNS510. Any of these will fit, with the Delta being the simplest and least featured, but still offers decent sound.

2009 T2 Shadow Blue 3.6L V6 (BHK 206KW), 18" Valley rims, Vavona wood package, Pure Beige leather interior, sunroof
2005 T1 Blue Silver 3.2L V6 (BMV 177KW), 18" Manhattan rims, wooden steering wheel and shift lever, otherwise pretty basic (being prepared for sale)

Go to your local VW dealer, say "Hello" nicely and ask them to print off the build sheets, also known as the data sheets, for your car. Several pages of useful info every owner should always obtain.

These should give you the detail you need.

VW Touareg models are as follows:
Generation 1: T1 is model 7LA & facelift T2 is model 7L6
Generation 2: T3 is model 7P5 & facelift T4 is model 7P6
Generation 3: T5 is model CR7 [Not available in "VW Atlas" North America!]

The factory stereo, whichever model you find, will be very expensive - even used! You may want to check out a stereo shop for other options first. I'm sure you can get something more simple. An Android head unit also makes a good replacement for a reasonable price.

"Callie" - 2013 Touareg TDI Execline, Cool Silver on Titan black
"Sophie" - 2010 Touareg TDI Highline, Campanella white on Anthracite - sold back to VW
"Celeste" - 2009 Eos 2.0T DSG Lux, Candy white on Anthracite
"Simone" - 2002 Golf GLS TDI, 5 speed, HID projectors
"Rocinante" - 1990 JDM HDJ81 Toyota Landcruiser turbodiesel, 5 speed, RHD

Thanks! That's good to know as well but I'm hoping that putting the actual factory stereo back in will make the instrument panel on the dash and steering wheel work like they are supposed to. I don't know that it will but want to try.
