2005 R5 turbo

Just making sure; it's a GT2056v isn't it?

I can't see a plate on it anywhere.

A rebuild and balance is going to be close to the price of a new one.

Buy a new one, prime it, fit it. Done.

So you can't just fit a seal kit?

What about these balanced cartridges I've seen?

Maybe in SA it might but in Australia a quality professional rebuild would be $600-$700 a new item would be double that.

Yes you could get CHRA assembly and have it assembled by a turbo guy as the vacuum controller needs to be set.
Or just call one of the turbo shops ( I have personally used Procharge in Sunbury Melbourne) and have them quote you for rebuild of yours.

You will save hundreds and hundreds.

I posted a brand new unit from rexbo for 524.78 euros.

They ship worldwide relatively cheap.

How is that expensive?

Yea had a look at Rexbo /JP Group.
Seem a bit dearer now for non Garrett turbo possibly Chinese.
524 euro with shipping is probably going to push at least $900 Aud .
Also not sure I would like to try for any warranty for a problem on an item that costly from so far from Australia.

The turbo linked was 624.49 Euro equals 933.58 Australian Dollar plus delivery.
Cheaper than most.

Noob question: In the case of a CHRA assembly replacement, the VNT mechanism stays the same, will the vacuum actuator need adjusting?
