| Thanks Geoff
I just wanted to say THANK YOU to Geoff for a truly wonderful customer service experience. I bought at the end of January, but was leaving for a 2+ week trip to Europe. Geoff took my order and held off on shipping to make sure that I was around to receive the brakes. You just don't find many people willing to do all the little things to make your purchase special anymore. Geoff is the exception to this rule. I received the front and rear brake kits today complete with sensors, tools, and everything else needed to get the job done. I am vey close to needing to replace the brakes, but yet the warning light has not come on yet so I will wait to install these until it does (need to get every mile out of the fast wearing touareg brakes ). I will post more about the results once I do. Thanks again Geoff for offering such a great service to us Touareg owners.

| Without doubt one of the best buying experiences ever.
Apart from the obvious price advantage, I have to thank Geoff at Alretta Truck Parts for providing one of the best buying experiences ever. He knows his market, products and his customers. My full front and rear brake kit arrived exactly as promised, packaged beautifully - very well protected, and all fully labeled so that even a moron like me could do the work himself. Everything went together like it should and having everything so clearly labeled and prepared made the job so much easier.
Thank you.
Lee.
(The follow-on package was awesome, a great idea and much appreciated!)

| Just completed first brake job @ 75K
Hi,
I just finished an complete F & R brake job with parts from Alretta Truck Parts. The sensor light came on about a month ago and on inspection all four corners were right down to the sensor. Not bad for even wear for 75K on an 2004.
I went ahead and flushed the brake fluid during the service. I thought I was going to have to use a pressure bleeder but thought I would try the pedal method in case someone out there does not have one. It worked perfectly and was very straight forward.
The beast stops just fine and is as quiet as usual. I never had any brake squel so I was hoping the new components did not introduce any.
I recommend Alretta Truck. Geoff was knowledgeable and shipped the parts out quickly and even recommended a few tools that I did not have.

Can you post a link to a good DIY for rears? My sensor went off yesterday.

As far as I know, no one has posted a DIY for the rear brakes, as such. The process is similar to fronts from a caliper perspective, but then there is re-adjustment of the rear parking brakes to perform.

Would not dream of going OEM with parts from the Stealership.
Goeff had the parts to me in two days at a fraction of the OE cost. My mechanic had our T-reg for a day. Mechanic stated parts where nicely packaged, all parts work flawlessly. I'll share impressions in a few weeks.

Let me add my vote for Geoff at Alretta. He is a true enthusiast, and has been great to work with. My other hobby is British cars, specifically Lotus's (old, cheap ones), and he gave me a lot of tips on how to do the brake job (a bit more difficult than on old British cars). The parts arrived on schedule, at a great price. Short amazing story. I called after the parts arrived and left a question on his answering machine. He called back within a few hours with the answer, from his vacation in HAWAII!!! How many companies do you know that are that dedicated!
The only hiccup I had in the DIY process was that I was unable to get the rear brake caliper bolts off. I have a lift in my garage, air lines, and I even rented a torque multiplier, but I could not get enough torque on those bolts, due to the tough angle and accessability. Had to take it back to the dealer and have them do the labor at the unfair price of $240 but I still saved a ton doing the fronts myself and getting the parts from Geoff.

Quick follup note suggested by Geoff. The trick on the rears in my opinion, is to have the car up over your head so you can get enough swing room and body weight on a breaker bar. The torque is 111 ft lbs, plus 90 degrees, so the torque to remove is likely over 200 fl lbs. My air wrench is a bit more than that but wasn't enough. I do have a lift, but it is too small for the Treg. I thought about putting the rear end on it and raising it up high enough, but I don't have partial-lift locks so I was concerned about getting underneath it.
As I told Geoff, I'm sure someone will post a message about what simple trick there is that I missed...
Also, I used the instructions posted by someone else here (Tahoe?), and have some tips/updates for those who try the same. I was a bit confused on a couple of things as they related to the pix he has, until I figured it out. Will try and post those when I get a chance.

I purchased and installed Geoff's front/rear rotors and pads kit. I can't say enough good thing about the quality of the parts Geoff has put together. I have no idea why anyone would choose another vendor. Excellent parts and excellent service. I'll definitely be calling Geoff for future purchases on my other cars. Finally, very low dust pads!! After almost 5 years and 40K miles on the OEM parts, it is nice to finally have my wheels stay clean.
Geoff, thanks for putting such a great product together.
