Using the DEF pump at the truck stop was about as clean as the previous VW service folks seem to have been. It resulted in only spilling a small amount when removing the nozzle. Very hard to tell when the tank is full though.

FBI arrests Volkswagen exec in emissions probe - MarketWatch
Funny how in one of the articles I had read that stated the judge could sign as early as this week sometime said that VW wants it done before the 20th and Trump takes office.

Great for me as I want to buy a new truck. Come on Judge Breyer, both parents have signed the divorce papers, put your ink on it already!

As long as the Fed doesn't jack rates up too fast this year, I'm still looking to wait until next fall.

Volkswagen executives concealed diesel cheating: FBI court filing | Reuters

Quote:
Volkswagen (VW) executives decided to cover up cheating of U.S. emissions tests when they were told about it almost two months before the matter became a public scandal in 2015, according to a court filing by U.S. law enforcers seen by Reuters.

Senior VW manager Oliver Schmidt, who is due to appear in court charged with defrauding the United States later on Monday, was one of those who informed executive management about the "existence, purpose and characteristics" of so-called defeat devices on or around July 27, 2015, according to the filing by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to a Michigan court.

Personally I prefer Igor, from Young Frankenstein...who fittingly picked the Abby Normal brain. Kinda like what Winterkorn and Hatz did with the filter

Bet we hear a lot more about investments in Chattanooga going forward...

The line I had heard when this first broke was that those in charge at VW had their accountants tell them that based on the cheating on the MPG figures that Hyundai had to pay to its customers for getting caught for inflating the MPG numbers, if the fines that VW would have to pay were like what happened to Hyundai, that VW could live with it and that the gamble was worth the risk.

VW sure gambled and lost.

I just don't want VW to go bankrupt or anything BEFORE I get paid for mine. I'm only looking out for #1.

I don't want to wait at all as I fear VW might go bankrupt or some crazy thing and not have pay out what they owe. I mean, where is all this money going to come from? Do they have a savings or checking account with $20 billion dollars in it? Are they taking out a loan/line of credit?

Are they too big to fail?
