RRS going well. has taken some time to get used to it but I really like the drive. About the same performance as the R50 but much better fuel economy. Great drivers car very good handling. Have got 30,000 k's up now. Miss not having TPMS but some of the other features are very good, best sound system I have ever had and the Dynamic suspension is fantastic. The RR board is pretty quite compared to club Touareg.

well back to the HBA topic, so far A indicator comes up on the panel but the auto high beam doesnt come on. Seems like it needs a dark road without street lights.
In order to confirm does anyone have HBA factory fitted in their Touareg? It would be good to compare vcds settings....

Mine works very well, can't figure how it knows to dip when you are behind a car?

Singh,
My Audi has the HBA but it is useless in urban environments as the camera keeps detecting street lights and any reflected lights from other cars on the road side.
On the open road it works very well turning the high beam on and off just at the right time.

Of interest my parents just purchased a Subaru outback with the eye sight setup and HBA. According to their manual the system does not operate under 50km (or a lower speed limit like that). We had to get out of suburbia and on to an open road before it activated even with the indicator on the dash. It uses the twin cameras of the Subaru as well and works much the same as my Audi's in detecting other light sources.

Now - Audi Q3 TDI and Golf TSI.

Retired - 2nd gen (T3) V6 TDI -
Very big hole in roof / Vanilla flavoured outside / Black Nappa inside with a brush of aluminium / OEM tow pack / Dark glass windows / Lots of cameras / Warm wheel with paddles / RNS850 / Extra real spare wheel / Some other stuff.

Thanks Flipperdog. Would be great to get a scan of your setup.
Bails, the camera in your windscreen is smart to detect any lights like Gary mentioned, inc that of the rear lights if a car ahead

I do not know how it does it but perhaps because HBA only works when out of town lights . I really like this feature just drive and forget at night.

Thanks mate! Interesting difference is that I dont have the A5 module in my V8. I initially thought this might mean it was will require more than a vcds change to turn hba on but it appears there are some vw/audi variants out there without A5 module and still have hba...will have doubly check this
