Towing with the V10
So I went to tow my Bix tex dump trailer and my ranch tractor with my 2008 Ford Superduty the other day and suprise, no trailer lights what so ever, so the V10 got put to a great test. The trailer and the tractor put together probably weigh 8500 pounds, so I hooked up and away I went, I'm telling you I could barely feel them back there it was amazing, guess I have no need for my powerstroke now!! Towed the whole package up a nice windy and steep hillside road up to the new property and the car didn't even break a sweat.

Yep, The V10's are incredible torque beasts...so different from the V8 gasser which has nice acceleration not loaded to moderately loaded but with the V10 you almost don't know you've got a load...I've experienced this in Colorado at high altitude and am amazed how you can't make the V10 choke...just keeps pulling on any grade.
The larger 350mm/330mm Touareg V10 brakes are also great but if you're going to tow large heavy loads on a regular basis long distances in mountainous terrain you can upgrade the brakes to the 2008 Cayenne GTS/TT setup which give 380mm front and 358 mm rear...again, this would be overkill for most situations but if you got rid of your Superduty and were traveling cross country you'd definitely notice the larger brake stopping power mentioned towing heavy loads. |

The part I like is the the V-10 gets the same mileage with the boat as the V-8 did empty.

Yea I had no idea that the V10 was a whole level above my V8 until I bought this one, it really is an awesome vehicle. As for the brake situation, I am planning on putting a trailer brake controller in if I do end up getting rid of my truck but that will be in the future.
Thanks for the responses. Linder

What about putting an electric trailer break controler in the cab for towing big loads?
