Anyone with 2008 Touareg and Brake Controller???

Has anyone successfully completed install on an 08?
I have an Envoy and wired it up according to Nick's step by step directions.

Controller glows green but not a hint of red when brake is depressed (even with gain all the way to the right).

interestingly, when i slide the manual lever it goes red and the trailer brake engages.

I taped into the red and blue wires in the rear just as Nick in his play by play.

anyone successfully do this with an 08 and care to lend a hand? i'd be grealt appreciative!

Double check your connection to the red wire...its the one that senses the brake being depressed. Check it at both ends and also be a good idea to check for current flow through it just to ensure its got a continuous connection.

My thinking here is as follows:

If your brakes work when you slide the lever that would make me believe that your power, ground and blue wires are all properly connected.

Since your brakes don't work when the brake is depressed that would make me believe that there is an issue with the connection between the brake wire and your controller.

prob solved.....turned out to be a faulty controller!
thanks nick, your write up really helped out! actually, would not have been pssible without it. Plus, no dealer wanted anythign do do with it, nor had any clue how it could be done.
