Hydrogen Assist Fuel Cells
Has anybody tried a HAFC in any of their vehicles?
It looks like every other scam out there, but for $1K (the cost of 9 fillups in my 2reg), I'm a bit more curious. Directory:HAFC Hydro Assist Fuel Cell - PESWiki Thanks.

If something like this actually worked to save fuel, auto manufacturers and the government would be all over it. You would see it in every car sold.
Of course this is a scam to take money out of your pocket and put it in someone else's pocket.

I was hoping for some large scale conspiracy to keep the device out of production vehicles...

H2 for fuel additive?
Hi,
Remember reading an article a while ago about a trucking firm in Canada that had fixed routes, fuel milage, etc... tried a unit that was made of SS and basically you put water in it, it used current from the alternator, and electrolized hydrogen and fed it directly into the vacuum side of the intake manifold. The drivers noticed on some hills they had to gear down became "pedal to the metal" hills with the extra power. Milage improved and overall the units paid for themselves in a short period of time. Alan in the middle east somewhere. Last edited by stardate2010; 06-05-2008 at 10:41 PM. Reason: signature |

Sorry but it takes more energy to break apart the atoms in water than you gain once they are broken apart. This is from high school physics.
This gas from water crap has already been disproven.

I realise that this is an older post but I have to interject. Spockcat, I have read many posts of yours and, as I see it, you are the "man" when it comes to all things Touareg but I have to respectfully disagree with you. The process of electrolises used by the supplemental hydrogen systems requires very little electricity. The cool thing about hydrogen gas is that when burned it releases a wopping 10x more energy than gasoline. When used in conjuction with gasoline the hydrogen kits work by increasing the potency of gasoline combustion so it doesn't have to make much hydrogen. I work with a guy that put one on his F150 and he has seen an increase from 19 mph to about 26 - 28 mph. If there's any question as to the validity of these systems all you have to do is look to the brand new car that Honda is advertising on TV. It's supposed to be out this summer and they claim in the comercial that it runs completely on water! Very cool.

The average internal combustion engine only operates between 60 to 80 percent efficiency. Hydrogen (HHO) increases the efficiency of the internal combustion engines without exhaust sensors as much as fifty percent. There is still much more work to be done to bug out the exhaust sensors to make things work as well as they can in newer vehicles. There is much to see on youtube on making your own system. I am looking at making my own system for my 84 Ranger BioDiesel Pickup.
