Have the 07 V10 TDI. LOVE IT...a push of the gas pedal puts me into the next county, though...

I'd buy the '07s for the servotronic steering alone.

I have the '06 but would have loved to have had keyless go and power tailgate closure.

As far as an '06 or '07, if you are buying new, I'm sure there's slim pickings by now on the '06 models. Matt

Some of you have had multiple vehicles. I have as well and feel like I'm on some sort of quest for "the one." It's hard to get one vehicle that has everything though because I want so many things. I drove a 1996 Discovery for 5 years with no problems-I was lucky apparently because I ran 30,000 miles per year. In 24 months I've had a 2006 Toyota Tundra, 2005 Land Cruiser loaded, then additionally bought an 04 Discovery for me and gave it to my mom, then a BMW M roadster (no problems but I knew I was going to jail if I kept it more than a year...), had a Range Rover, and now an 07 LR3 that is totally set up for trail and camping. The problem, for us, LR3 is one of the most uncomfortable long drive vehicles ever made with it's freaky forward headrest design (among other things it bends neck forward for sake of safety IF you crash but I'm pretty sure I'll have to see a chiropractor soon). We like the Range Rover for some aspects and love the V10 in it's driving and handling characteristics as well as the MPG and BIODIESEL options. I was thinking it would at least be less problematic than the LR3 and Rover in general but now I'm not sure. The V10 we have picked out happens to be exactly what we built online in our wishlist format. Galapagos Grey, anthracite, nav, ALL features plus locking rear diff. On road, so much better driving. Offroad, It has more clearance than the rovers but no where near the wheel articulation which promotes traction, it has great torque but not the more advanced Terrain Response programing in the rovers. It doesn't have BLUETOOTH! odd for $77k car. It doesn't have a full size spare or better option than roof (tail gate swing away is better) It's back seats are a weird design for cargo and not simple to remove/replace. But, it's more comfortable than the lr3 and way cheaper than the RR supercharged. Any thoughts????? We could sign tonight and have good numbers on getting out of the lr3. |

have you considered the Q7? I currently have the LR2 - nice and all. But finding it somewhat boring at times. Renting a Q7 this weekend to get a feel for it.
The Honda Ridgeline is a great all purpose - have an 06 with zero issues hold 5 ppl in comfort, plus the bed, in bed trunk etc. jsut a thought. I wish more diesels were avail. I'd switch in a heart beat - but not for 70k in a VW. Why can't I get a V6 TDI like they have in Germany - (I know its supposed to be coming - but still too late, we should have had diesels years ago. ![]()

It's not just german cars that are problematic it's also infiltrated their bikes. I bought a 2008 ktm (Austrian basicly german) and iv'e had it back to the shop 6 times in 3 months with 4 blown headlights and 2 stuffed starter motors. I have had 10 year old Hondas and Yamahas which have been flogged and have given my less problems. The europeans need to get some advice from the land of the rising sun on reliability. I've had 6 toyotas and every one has done over 250000kms with absolutely zero problems, they certaintly aren't the best looking cars but they certainly don't have you back to shop for any unscheduled visits. I still want a treg and hope that i don't get burnt.
Does anyone own a 2007 tdi v6 3.0l? I imagine VW should have sorted things out with 4 years of development. |
