Xenon headlight replaced

I had a faulty xenon headlight that needed to be replaced by the dealer.

$$$ ~ 200 USD

I read on the web that these should last the life of the car.

Did anybody else have xenon lights go out after 50k miles / 3yr and should this have been warranted?

Absolutely this should have been warrantied!!!

Yeah, I have a 2004 with 38K miles on it. Had a headlamp replaced, but covered under warranty by dealer.

Mine is at 49k and went out twice, so it is not the bulb but corroded wiring.
Mine was the left one. Friday I get a new one under warranty

I ll go back see if I can get a refund. Ineed the money badley to cover all the repairs

Both of mine flicker at different times. sometimes at the same time. the one on the right will go out all together at times but comes back on right away seeming to be brighter then before it went out. The dealer tells me that both bulbs are bad. I have 98K miles. See my other posting referencing the Transmission Hill hold issue.
