Strange string

Hello,

It's been a while since I posted here, but I small problem has cropped up. A small, white, plastic string about 1/2 cm in diameter has mysteriously appeared at the bottom of the driver seat, near the right recline hinge. I noticed this a while back, but didnt think much about it, until it started getting longer over time. I apologize for the quality of the phone picture below, I cant seem to find my other camera.

Looks like piping material used in seam piping.

Thanks to spock and aircooled, and sorry for the late reply, I could not get the site to load. I went and checked the seams, it looks like a seats worth of that stuff came out.

My best guess is that this material is not essential to the sturdiness of the leather, and the seat wont fall apart if I decide to cut the exposed portion. Right?

Otherwise, how would someone repair this? Force the material back in? Take it to the dealer?

Do you have young children in your car ever? Could have been a little extra hanging out and one of them pulled it out further.

No little children, but probably one of the passengers feet snagged it while leaving the car.
