Keyless Entry

Hi!!!

I have 2005 V8. My push button on door handle Keyless entry seemed to stop working when trying to lock/unlock doors. My Key Fob works to lock or unlock. When I approach the vehicle it does not automatically unlock when I pull on handle. Also I cannot lock the vehicle by pushing the button on door nob.

Has anyone experienced this? It doesn't seem like it would be the battery in my Key Fob since that works fine. I replaced the battery within last 6 months.

Bring it to the dealer. This is a problem only they can solve. I had a similar issue with my V10 and they replaced the door handle which has the sensors. Your problem might be slightly different but I doubt you can solve it yourself.

My 04 had the EXACT same problem, after 2 trips with it 1/2 fixed, the 3rd time they replaced the comfort control modual. Works like a charm now. Only complain now is that instead of beeping once saying the car is locked it beeps twice, however every 5th time it will beep once . Also I have noticed that if you key is in your hand that is opening the door (i.e. holding key in right hand, and opening door with right hand, key is withing mm of handle) it will not unlock. Hope this helps...

I figured it would be a trip back to dealer.

I am leaning toward looking into getting an extended warranty now. It has 45k miles now.

Thanks for your feedback!!!

Still love my Touareg!!!

Not to hijack this, but I'm incredibly pissed...I went to the dealer today to get a new key made and it is doing what yours was...not unlocking via touch (but the remote part works fine, and it cranks and drives it).

However, my old key works fine. Any suggestions?

If there is an at-home fix, that would be awesome. Our local dealer is less than helpful.

Had that issue with mine as well and it involved over $4k of repairs by the dealer. New KESSY module, 4 new door handles, painting, and sensor for the rear hatch.

Reflex, was it the same situation as mine or as the OP?

ONE of my keys works fine. I can unlock and lock and open the trunk and everything just like normal with the OLD key, but this new one will only work via remote (lock, trunk, and unlock) but no touch-unlock awesomeness.

is this the same Reflex?

My issue was with both keys not able to unlock the car by just reaching for the door handle. None of the 4 buttons on the 4 door handles would lock the car either and my rear hatch would not unlock and detect the presence of my key without using the keyfob buttons. A quick scan revealed a fault code with the KESSY module. The reason for the 4 new door handles was that VW released an updated KESSY module that was not compatible with the older door handles.

Your issue seems to me like a coding problem. They might have coded the KESSY to just the one key and not the other.

I thought maybe so. Do you know if that can be fixed by the process of putting one in the ignition and using the other in the door?

I don't have the answer to that but since it's free, you might as well give it a try.
