Display "adjust steering wheel" and wont start...

Second time in two months it hasnt started because of this (and towed to the Dealer twice) Got it started before the first time towed several times by banging on the shift lever and opening/closing the door. Feb '04 7k mile Treg.

Want to keep this great rig but WTF!? new Tcase, multiple Dealer visits

Damn, dont want what else is out there for the coin we spent, and cant sell the 4-Runner till I feel this will run everyday

Two more times towed to the dealer since I last posted, heck last Sat it didnt start (7:00 am) after I got it back Fri!

Now the lead Tech is taking it home everyday to see if it will do it for him, of coarse not! still no codes....

How long do I wait before thinking about the Lemon Law stuff?

ADJUST STEERING WHEEL

Dont even think about the lemon law in this case. the car shouldnt even be towed to the dealer. If you shut off the TReg with the wheel turned all the way in one direction then when you go to start it you will get this message. Kinda like a regular car that has a normal ignition switch (not an elctronic one) and you have to turn the wheel a little to turn the key on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NOPE! its sits in a forward (wheels straight) position in a driveway. Cant move the LOCKED steering wheel since the key wont start the rig/unlock the wheel (tried many times anyway and adusted the wheel elevation too) Leave the rig for a few hours (sun hits it) in the same position and it will start (think it has to warm up?)

On the bright side, finally it did it for the Lead Tech today (so they think we are not too loony) but still no codes we will see.... This all started after the T-case replacement....

Adjust steering wheel

That really sucks! Maybe a bad steering column. Weird

that it just happend after the T-Case replacement. Maybe just

coincidence? Good luck on that one. Has the tech tried the VW help line?

Well the Engineers in Germany had them replace the whole column, something about a small motor in it might be bad. I will pick it up today and let you all know.
