I had the same problem with the 04'. Did it for a couple of days and then stopped. I started a thread on this about a month ago. I was disconnecting the fans when I got home so that it wouldn't drain the battery. But after that I have never had any other issues and or errors. One of those "fix itself" things again.

try replacing the sensor right below the backside of the intake manifold on the fire wall side. its a grey 4 pin sensor...
dont forget to check & clear faults in the ECM & climate control !!!! the fans will still run if it still has a fault in the system.

Can you explain why it doesn't occur all the time. This has happened to me 4 times. I never get any alarms, the fans stay on and I end up disconnecting them so that they don't drain the battery. At one point it was doing it for a week, and then just stopped like all the other times.

Strange, the weather is cooler know so it doesn't run at all, when you shutdown, maybe oil temp is lower.
