TREG 2.5 TDI in Canada ???

I have a 2001 B5 Passat GLX 4M, and thinking to upgrade to TREG, however, do not want gas engine anymore...
Any info on TREG 2.5 TDI or even R5 hitting NAm market in the near future ?

No and rumor is that the R5 will be phased out in favor of a V6 tdi. The other rumor is the new V6 tdi was killed in favor of an R5. So we don't know who to believe.

Third rumor is that the V10 will be a 50 state vehicle in late 2004. But you didn't hear it from me.

The rumor is:
The V6 2.5 TDI from Audi (avilible in Europe) would be killed in favor of the R5 2.5 TDI.
And for the T-Reg the V6 3.0 TDI from Audi would be coming up soon (in Germany by the end of this year)
The latest info I got was that the R5 2.5 TDI would also stay in and "could" also come in the Audi A6.

Non of this is already ocfficialy published.

Thanks for the clarification. I had forgotten that the Audi 2.5 tdi was a V6. I couldn't believe that the new 3.0 V6 tdi would be getting killed off. This makes much more sense now.

The Audi engine was a 2,4 liters, almost the same as the one you can find in the... Eurovan diesel, in the mid-90's.

I don't know about Canada... but the 3.0V6TDI is coming to the U.S.

It is expected for 2009. Unless you decide to go with the Treg little brother; Tiguan Clean Diesel. Actually, you will be able to see the Tiguan @ the Montreal Auto Show in 2 weeks.
