'09 rumour, no V8 in Canada

This is a rumor I would believe. Especially considering fuel prices.

Agreed, with premium @ $1.40/L, I could see where V8 sales are basically dead...VW doesn't move many Touaregs up here, they sell anywhere from 50-100 a month, I'd imagine the bulk of them are V6s already, with the TDI engine coming, offering up 3 different engines in a tiny market probably doesn't make any sense.

Might have somthing to do with the huge price difference between the V6 and V8. A fully loaded V8 is a pricey beast north of the border.I didnt think the fuel mileage between the 2 engines was that much.

Yeah, V8s are expensive..mine was $65K, they dropped the pricing this year, but increased the shipping costs and the newly added gas guzzler tax pretty much brings it right back to the same price as before the decrease.

When will Cnd dealers start taking orders for the 09 TDI?

I was told on Friday that it should be in the system in mid-October for order with pricing and options. However, was also told to expect a delayed delivery in 09, most likely not until at least 2nd quarter. Having experienced a few times now what it's like to pre-order a new VW model, I'd expect a 3rd Q delivery if they say 2nd!
