Just wrapped up a long weekend camping trip in New Hampshire's Lakes Region. The mostly good weather made for some great camping. And the trail driving was awesome.

Here's the first of two sets of pics...

Thanks LOtouareg & Rick; it was a blast! Especially the summit climb and descent in the New Durham/Wolfeboro/Brookfield area.

But first, here are some vids of trail driving in the Blue Hills Range...

Yeah, that's my buddy with the Jeep Rubicon. He's been on a few Jamborees and knows his stuff. Teamwork like that makes for some great exploring.

Thanks!

Hope to do more of that next summer with you in the San Juans... ;)

Wife & kids are in the background somewhere. In the last climbing vid you can hear Ase shriek as the R/F wheel goes airborne.

Thanks dtrax! Maybe one day we can get you & your rig out on the trails with us...

Almost forgot about the TC question. As a rule, I try to leave ESP off when offroad. But I can't say with certainty that I remembered to turn it back off every time I restarted. That said, the limited wheel spin of the wheel(s) with poor traction is typical of the Treg's TC. (Which is really quite good.)

Like Yeti said, no rear locker on my 2010. But I did have it at xtra level on the upper sections that pushed the Treg's approach/departure angles.

The Champ Off Roader

Accolades to you for the ride, photos and video. Due to off road use in northern MN on old logging trails chasing grouse and often snow covered during the deer season, agonized over a Grand Cherokee or Touareg TDI. Bought a 2014 Touareg tdi and now need to replace with 18" wheels and the Antec skids. You confirmed my decision.

Great information, Thanks.

Thanks Tabsr! Great to see someone eager to take their newer gen. Treg offroad. Bet yours with decent AT tires would make it thru 90% of what mine has seen. Just watch your clearance/lines. And therein is where the Antecs would help. ;-)
