VW V6tdi engine in mastercraft boats

As you know, I am in the boating industry and love my tdi touareg. I just got a letter from mastercraft about this little idea that they will be introducing very soon. I will be first on the list for one.

great package.
downunder we can get factory fitted 4 and 6 cylinder mercruiser diesels and steyr diesels in many of the top name ski boats such as Lewis etc..

steyr would be nice but i think the V6 tdi would be awesome...

however for me, a ski boat needs the sound of a V8!!

Both my ski boats have V8s, I am extremely interested to hear the V6 in the setting of a boat.

This is VERY interesting...my brother and I were out on his Sunsation 288, its equipped with a 496 merc + whipplecharger, which makes serious power but costs a mint to run.

We were wondering why VW doesn't market the V10 TDI as a marine engine...maybe there's hope!!

They used to market the V10 for marine applications. They still might.

Thats awesome, I'm just waiting to see the sticker price on the same boat I have but with the diesel engine. The sticker on my boat was closer to 90k dollars which included a 400 horse V8, I'm guessing that with the V6 tdi the boat will be closer to 100k.

10K spread sounds about right...the 288 mentioned w/ 425HP 496ci V8 ran $130K, the 330hp marine diesel V8 ran an extra 10K (Marinized GM diesel).

I've never seen any info on a marine V6 or V10TDI, does anyone have a link?

Malibu will be coming out with a diesel tournament ski boat....for the time being I think I will stick with my Indmar 340 V8 Malibu.
