Thule snowboard/ski rack

Did some research and found that a lot of folks are recommending Yakima as a preference for carrying snowboards/skis using factory crossbars (06 T-reg)

However, it doesn't really help since I already have a Thule 726 (non universal), which am trying use - avoid buying a new set.

Any input/suggestions? I know that some have recommended using the tracks with "T" bolts. That's fine, but it doesn't seem to fit very well, since our OEM bars are slightly curved. I feel like I'm bending the Thule carrier when trying to tighten it down.

Thanks in advance for your comment. If there's a solution, please provide parts info.

Yours look similar to mine (mine don't slide, though). All I did was go to the hardware store and pick up some longer bolts that fit in the standard clamps, then tightened the clamps down around the factory bars.

Actually, the first time I bought the "long screw kit" from the Thule dealer, which is a pretty good description of how it feels to pay $12 for a few bolts. Just take one of the bolts to Ace and find the same size in a 2.5 or 3 inch length.

I'll see if I can remember to grab a pic or two tomorrow.

Sorry these took so long and that the quality is less than ideal. Quick phone-snaps on my way to the office.

I hope you can get the idea of the longer bolts extending the reach of the standard mounting equipment.

Great thx!!

This helps, cause I have to get a new set of clamps/feet as well. Besides the bolts, I just wanted to see if the feet actually fit over the bars.

Yep, if you're going to a Thule dealer anyway you can just get their larger-size mounting kit. I ended up losing some screws so that's how I ended up on the trip to the hardware store. Good luck!
