r50 kit...

ok guys my r50 kit showed up

now im facing a dilemna.... I dont know if I want to put the flares on or not.. is it too much? I was entertaining the idea of just the side skirts and front and rear extensions.. whats your opinion?

Ive got 23"x11 rinspeed wheels so even if they look to pushed in I can easily put spacers on but id rather the truck had a clean look than look overdone...

its alaska grey in colour

Where did you buy the kit from? How much did it set you back?

You'll need the flares, especially now that you are running over 22" size mags. It has nothing to do with the "too pushed in" thing you mentioned. IMHO, when you install 22"+ mags on Touaregs with stock bodywork, they just look too big. Fender flares will make it look just right.

Mags aside, I still think that it will look good with the flares. It's not like you bought some cheezy aftermarket ones. These will look good if painted and installed properly. You will also have something tasteful and unique, and it's still OEM . I say go for it!

Question is if you should install that Caractere hatch blend after everything all is said and done. I'm still torn on that one.

First of all i just completed front and rear r50 upgrade recently and here are few tips. First before u start taking of parts make sure yoy have every single peace listed
7L9-807-059-F-GRU SPOILER
7L9-853-676-B41 GRILLE
7L9-853-683-A-B41 GRILLE
7L9-853-684-A-B41 GRILLE
7L9-807-434-G-GRU SPOILER
7L9-807-675-B GRILLE
7L9-807-676-B GRILLE
7L9-807-087-D-GRU CAP
7L0-071-910 PIPETIP
7H0-941-699-C FOG LAMP
7H0-941-700-C FOG LAMP
7L9-853-663-GRU HOUSING
7L9-853-664-GRU HOUSING
7H0-941-165 HOUSING
7L9-998-163-GRU BEZELS
7L9-853-676-B41 GRILLE
7L9-807-155-GRU COVER
7L9-807-156-GRU COVER
N-907-234-01 PIN
N-906-633-01 WASHER
7L6-867-190 CLAMP

As far as exhaust tips u have to upgrade to quad tips 7L0-071-910 PIPETIP Because old ones are about 2 inches shorter than the spoiler itself and the will melt your new spoiler within 30 min.

Thumbs up. Good luck. How much can u get me a set of r50 fender flares and are they US or European base?

R50 doesn't have quad tips if you're wanting to copy the style faithfully. here's a pic of the real deal which shows the flare as well. The ride height is set down to load level for this pic. John

Caractere bodykit is more to what you are describing.
