2002 Lincoln LS V8-Anyone have experiences/info?

One of my co-workers is looking at buying a 2002 Lincoln LS V8 (with 47k miles), and I was wondering if anyone on here has any info (good, bad, ugly, indifferent, etc) about these vehicles. I know nothing about them, other than they seem to have an appetite for window regulators, so I figured I'd ask the collective and see if anyone can give me some insight to pass along.

Thanks for any info!
Matt

Loosely based on a Jag platform if I remember correctly. I don't remember what one it was though. Beyond that I don't know much about them other then they are a Ford.

My mom drives an '01 (I think...not 100% certain on the year, but that sounds right) LS, and she loves it. It is built on the same platform as the baby jag. The V8 is on the smallish side, which is actually a benefit at this point, what with gas prices and all.

One thing that I LOVE about it is the air-conditioned seats. Average temp here in the summer hovers north of 100 degrees, so leather is a mixed blessing, but when you can turn on the seat air conditioning and get a nice cool spot to sit....oh yeah...

She has had a few small problems with it, but I don't know specifics. I know they were not major or she wouldn't still own it, she's all about reliability. She traded in her supercharged Buick Regal for the LS because it was in the shop every other week.

Matt,
I've owned an '02 and current own an '05 Ultimate LS and think they are one of, if not, the best sport sedans available. I traded to update when I learned Ford was discontinuing the LS for the much lesser Zepher.
There was a major update in the '04- models that really improved the overall vehicle.
There are also a number of different versions... sport, luxury, ultimate that really are different, so it would get down to the specific unit in question.
I have had no faults with either LS, both were 3.9 L DOHC all aluminum 32 valve V8's that get ~ 20 MPG combined use. No a/c, long highway trips will do better than 25.
HTH,
Steve

Cool, thanks for the info folks! I'll pass this along to him tomorrow, and hopefully hear which version he's looking at. Other than it's a black V8 with 47k miles, that's all I know at this point.

Thanks again,
Matt
