TB - Navigation system 'flash'?

I see there is a TB to 'flash' the Navigation system for 2005 Touareg's (TB#2015927). Does anyone know a) whether this applies to both CD and DVD based systems and b) what it does?

I also remember reading a thread somewhere which indicated that a flash upgrade needed to be done to the DVD navigation in order for it to accept the latest updates from NavTeq... is this the upgrade its referring to?

Thanks in advance for any help... I've recently purchased an '05 with DVD navigation and was thinking about getting the lastest update.

VW are charging $20 for this TB (kit?)... which comes with a CD
