Remote Car Starter

I've been told that you can't get remote car starters installed on the touareg. Is that true? I'm from northren canada and thats almost a requirement for a vehicle. Thanks, Bryan.

I wouldnt say can't. Its just verry dificult because its not a traditional ignition system. I believe DEI made a piece to integrate remote start into the treg. It can be done but I dont think anyone has. Do a search on this site there was a few threads about this.

If you have a 2004-2006 with keyless entry, you can add keyless start. Not quite remote start but still useful in a similar fashion as you can start the car, leave it running to warm up and lock it.

i've got a v6 2004 australian version which i've seen 2003 got engine start buttom on it but they stop put it in since 2004 on wards. i know you have mentioned v6 north american version don't have keyless start module. but can you please let me know how would i know whether we've got that for our ausssie version v6. don't wanna give up this cool function if we can get one.

If you don't have the keyless entry on the car, then you cannot add the keyless start. It really has nothing to do specifically with the engine except in North America that was the way they packaged that option.

Keyless entry is the system that allows you to unlock the car just by touching the door handle when you have the key in your pocket.
