| New NAV/DVD/AMP install questions
I have browsed back as far as 10 pages and haven't found answers to all of my questions. So, I thought I would start a new thread in hopes of getting information together that we can all use. It would be great to have a sticky thread listing everything needed for several different install scenarios.
My 2004 has the factory CD/NAV and rear CD changer. While the system works 'good' it is not optimal in my opinion. Take that plus the system components that I removed from my previous vehicle and it makes the factory system less than perfect.
What I plan on installing is a Kenwood DDX-8019, KNA-G510 Navigation, Ipod adapter, rear view camera, and a few amps if needed . What I would like this thread focused on is all the parts, pieces and components needed to perform the swap. While I have installed new stereo components in all of the vehicles that I've owned, I'm hardly a car audio professional. I want a clean install that outperforms the stock configuration in all aspects.
I've read a few threads that state that it's impossible to use the factory CD/NAV amp with an aftermarket head unit. I'm fine with that but what I don't know is how to power 11 speakers with a 4 channel amp. Is it best to install 3 4 channel amps?
As far as the install parts, what do you guys use for the following.
1.) rear view camera
***use stock 07+ hatch release? Part number?
2.) Double din dash piece - location, price, etc?
3.) Stock harness adapter for aftermarket unit
4.) Components needed for steering wheel control(s)
Let's build this thread on this and see where it takes us!
Thanks,
Matt
