New DVD Install

Here is a nen DVD system that I installed for my two girls... I am really pleased with it.

that looks nice. how long did it take you yo install that? were you able to tap in the car's sound system or does it just send its sound to the headphones? how much did it cost you?

The install went quick, there are frames to mount to so the sun roof is not a problem. It is really quite secure. The unit sends a signal to the radio that sends sound to the speakers... It sounds awesome; there is no loss of quality. If you don't turn that off though, it will interfere with the normal radio stations... not a big deal (easy to turn off). The wireless headphones are great too. The unit also rotates 180' and flips back (the pic actually flips too to accommodate) so you can recline the front seats and watch a movie. I love it.

Wow, that looks fantastic. That is one of the best DVD set ups I hav seen for the Touareg.

Lucky girls! I wish I had dvd players in cars growing up.

Is the complete system made by Sony, or just the monitor and player?

Man that looks great !! I am with Tahoe...wish I had that when I was growing up. Better yet....wish I had something like that when raising the kids on those road trips!!

Thank you everyone for the complements... I picked it up at Circuit City, they have it on their web page... after all was said and done it cost about $1000.00. It was advertised for less but with the warranty, rebates and stuff, it was about a thousand. I could not be more pleased with the final product.

One last question...did you get Circuit City to install? I've heard some horror stories about their install shop but your install looks perfect...let me know. Thanks!

Does it block your rear view through the mirror when the screen is down?
