Navi RNS 510 US specs switch to EU

Hello,
I just bought '0 Tuareg2 with navi RNS 510 US specs and wuold like to switch for EU system. I've seen a lot of posts but any of them doesn't explain to the end that will work in europe or not. If yes just any ideas what should be upgraded. With standard radio I now that is no problem with VAG, but what about RNS510?

The Touareg in the US doesn't get the RNS510 until next year. The RNS2 DVD-nav is what we have in the US, so I'm assuming that's what you meant.

I don't know about making it work for Europe, but I do recall that the Euro Nav units won't work over here, so I'd assume the US-Spec Nav won't work in Europe.

Hi

All you need is Vag Com or one of these standalone units around 80Euro (tester) or just go to your dealer and ask him to reprogram the Car to euro specs.

Its not a big deal

Just give me any idea what kind of upgrade shall I find. I've been looking on vortex..., there is some posts about, but any of them where not completed. With normal radio it's easy 17... changing specs etc, but with navi - I didn't found finished project so far. Even service now nothing about! Cezarian

No sorry have no idea, the upgrade should be no problem as in Europe its quite common. All I remember is you need a different cable or switch two cables. Just dont remember. As for the coding that should also be just a formal thing.

You know I have just noticed the button layout is different on the US RNS 510 than here in Europe!!!!!

So I guess I will have 3 Units for sale (us spec) if anyone is interested.

I am receiving the Cars in about 2 months so I will swap the units for euro spec..... so give me some offers.....

Maybe you remember some settings in transmission, so far I remember there is also some changes in spec. Which cluster is responsible for that? I checked with dealer, they said that , they can't change any settings in DVD, GPS - it's out of service. Everythink else schould be no problem, but I don't really belive on them ! If I will have problems with this GPS I will contact you to sell in US. Thanks for your patient, body !
