Buying the onstar microphone cover to host a hands-free mic

I have a blank where these mic grills are. I'm wondering if I can buy this little plastic piece to replace the blank so I can pop the hands-free kit microphone in there.

I'd rather do this than cut a hole in the blank even if it could be concealed with fabric.

Try these part numbers with your dealer:
7L6 868 349G 5J6 for grey interior
7L6 868 349G 7G8 for pure beige interior
7L6 868 349G 7H7 for Sunshine beige interior
Parts lists also mentions to use:
7L6 880 925
Not sure what it is.

Also, the parts list gives a part number for the 7 button right side button switch with the telephone controls. Not sure if you could wire them up though.

If you can order this part can you post the cost? I too would like a clean mike install and am curious to cost as there are actually two mics on the interior of this part.

There's only 1 mic when it comes preinstalled with onstar, but I don't know if the part comes with any mics. Not sure why there are 2 grills. Maybe for symmetry.

I just got off the phone with my dealer and told me that the mic cost about $60. He is going to find out about the mounting hardeware and get back to me.

the trim plate costs $17.90. The mic will come with the kit. I ordered it, should be up from california Wed/Thurs.
