So this is supposed to have an internal hard drive. Can you load music up to that drive?

Sure can> I have only transfered mp3 files with my SD card but it was very cool making new folders on the hard drive. I think if you have a cd with mp3 files on it you can transfere them aswell....

I just looked at a 2008 V8 petrol, and I believe it still had the rear diff lock, thats a definite bummer you can't get it anymore!

I just played with this nav unit in Seattle - installed in an R32 - totally SWEET! bluetooth, via screen or phone or steering wheel "phone" button.

dvd plays while driving - screen quality surprised me - very sharp with movie playing.

supposedly cars like passat will have little reverse camera option - "VW" emblem will "pop" open with hidden camera when gear selector put into reverse - neat!

internal HD of about 30gb I think he said, SD card input on front as well as dvd/cd. You upload the maps via dvd and then can remove it.

it's slick and has way more info than the old one - info is currently from bmw apparently - he said.

touch screen allows "screen - in - screen" and lots of other cool features.

jwestpro, was the R32 on public display somewhere? I'm also in Seattle, and I'd happily kip off to Cartoys or wherever if there's a chance I can try an RNS510. Do you know if they installed it themselves?

I've been attempting to read through various threads on the unit, but I'm still a little mystified at what parts I'd need for my 2006 Touareg beyond the nav unit itself - I presume my existing GPS antenna would work, but I'm guessing there's a necessary canbus adapter, a sat radio antenna, a VW bluetooth unit and probably a few other parts.

I will clear with my source first as he is not a "shop" doing it as a business.

He digs all things VW though so he may be glad to at least show you and point in the right direction for parts.
