Adding Bluetooth Phone, Ipod Controller, dvd player and XM

Just got my 2005 Treg last night. It is a V8 package 3 with the nav system, factory 19's, side steps and winter package.

First order of business is to add a few more gadgets (my Tahoe has the Alpine ipod controller and head and I love it).

I have been on this forum half the day already, getting excited about adding some stuff. Need some advice on the best way to add the following so that it all works well together.

1. Ipod controller. The iconnection one looks good. Are there any better ones that will display information on the nav head unit (such as track title, playlist, artist etc.) like my Alpine does?

2. Bluetooth phone. The nav has a "phone button" in the middle, and if you press it, it says "no active call". What are some good options to add a bluetooth phone unit? Is there any way to display call information on the nav screen? Can the phone be set up to play through the car stereo? Does the Treg have a mike anywhere?

3. DVD player... any recommendations for headrest DVD systems, that can be hooked into the nav screen and audio (I'm assuming you can plug into the aux A/V in to do this, from the player itself).

4. Sirius... do you just hook up to the AO Aux in on the nav with spockcat's cable?

Sorry if these are "noob" questions.... I haven't had the Treg for 24 hours yet and need to go wake the baby up!

Hey Harlet....Congrats on the '05 Treg.

I was considering something similar (but $$ was the main issue). You may want to consider getting an Alpine Media Hub -- as far as i know there are 2 a)VPA-B222 and b) VPA-B211A. The will both use the navigation screen. (But you may want to check which Nav you have--I think the CD version only has the Aux output.). The Hub can be hidded and can connect a back-up camera, DVD, Ipod (with add accessories), Sirius, and alpine nav. If you do a search on here and Vortex I think u will see pics from someone who installed it.

Also (if you have the CD nav) --- you will need Spockcat's A/V adapter and/or the Video in Motion (or try the 12v bypass)

This option beats ripping the dash apart and makes everything look factory.

Hope I was of some help.

Thanks for the info...

I will check out the Alpine unit. I have an Alpine setup in my Tahoe (head unit, ipod controller and 5 channel amp).

I want to keep the factory head (CD based sound system 2), because of the integrated features with the car, and I'm looking for the best ways to add on to it.
