Just ordered the Goodyear Duratracs for 180$ a tire in 255/75/17 (32") with winter studs ($15/tire). Say your prayers plastic wheel wells.

Should have pics this weekend.

Presumably the studs will increase the diameter even more - at least as far as rubbing/ripping the arch liners.

studs only add about 1/8th of an inch to the tire if that. They're not at the edges at all, so i don't forsee them being the first thing to hit. I'm curious if i'll need wheel spacers to move the tire away from the tie rod ends, or if at lock the corner of the tire will rub the plastic wheel well. We shall see. I may go pick them up tomorrow and take them over to get studded. I ordered dorman tpms sensors as well which should be here on friday, then they can all be put together on the wheels, then mounted.

Do i want to take the time to paint the wheels in winter though without a heated space... i have some black plastidip, but you have to paint the wheels after the tires have been mounted... idk if i can wait that long.

So unfortunately that size tire of the Duratrac doesnt have stud options. So i wasn't going to spend another 200$ to get studs. So I picked them up anyways. I'm waiting on the tpms sensors to come in on friday, then mount and balance, then going to plastidip them black.

couple pics. 29" vs 32"

ignore the flower vinyl in the back, that was given to me for free and it protects the interior so i said f* it.

I apologize for the salty pics, tis the season.

Confirmed that 255/75/17 fit with no rubbing (32"). Its very close though.

Unfortunately the wheel weights were positioned in a bad spot so they are rubbing a little on the caliper on the front left.

These things ride great though. Very smooth, not a lot of side to side motion, felt planted over slush and snow. They don't get caked with snow when driving through deeper stuff. Not anymore loud than the blizzaks.

Unfortunately it looks like I bought the wrong dorman tpms sensors at 315mhz, i should of gotten the 433mhz ones.

I like that set up. Proper Touareg.

Ref the 433 mhz, I think the change was from MY2015 - see my post #16 in response to your post about wavelengths on this thread:
