What is the tire pressure for this wheel and tire option? Can sopmeone with this tire option from factory check their door column and door if it shows tire pressure for 19" wheels? Mine only got 17" tire pressure requirements and the nukbers are differetn from the door and door column.
Thanks for the help

I have the 19" wheels. The sticker says 39psi front, 46psi rear. Why the big difference front to rear with a vehicle that is heavier in front, approx. 55/45, i guess for max load capacity. I run my tires at 39 front and 42 rear unless I'm carry stuff, then the 46 rear.

I'd like to know the answer to this as well, for the factory 255/60/17.
I also read that large difference in pressure between the front/rear in the door column!?
Thanks.

I have an 08 V8 steel. Both stickers say the same thing. The MFD setting is the 39/46. It is interesting that the air suspension is 41 vs 39 for the front. I don't think a lb or two would make much difference though.

nald,
I just checked and the door and door column are the same.
The thing that I find confusing, is that those #'s on the door say to inflate the rear tires at the MAX pressure which the tire is limited to (as per tire sidewall specs).
Why would they want me to inflate it to the max tire pressure?

After seeing nald's Touareg the other evening when doing some Vag-Com scanning, it has thoroughly convinced me that the folks at VW sometimes have no idea what they're doing. The tire placard on the pillar says 39 front/46 rear on 255/60-17. The VIN label on the door has 36 front/44 rear on 255/60-17, which is the same as my '05. I believe the 19's were a dealer swap on in place of the 17s, as the RPO code list does not list the 19" code on it, so this further complicates things. The manual simply states to run 39/46 regardless of tire size, which is much different than in years past where each size has had its own recommended pressure.
