Minimum Tire Load Rating for V6 Treg?

Considering Toyo Proxes S/T in 275/40/20 with a load rating of 102W. Any thoughts as to whether this is a sufficient load rating? I will be towing a boat also.

The V8 and V10 comes with 109V (2275 lb) rated tires. The V6 comes with 106H (2075 lb) rated tires. The tires you selected are 102W (1875 lb) rated. So you have effectively cut the load capacity by 800 lbs from the V6's tires and 1600 lbs from the V8/V10's tires. And you plan to tow a boat?

Do you really think this is a good idea?

Spock, or anyone with a wealth of Touareg knowledge, would a tire with a load rating of 107 be okay on a V8? I do not tow and this is strictly a summer tire on the 19in Atheo. I'm hesitant to purchase it because of the low load rating however I do not and cannot find what is the minimum, I can only find that 109 is what came from the factory.
TIA

Check here for the tire placard info that Gaijin posted a while back.

Hope this helps!

Thanks guys, I'm going to have to keep looking...I'm looking at 19' tires so my minium is 108. I'd feel I'd be pushing it with the 107 rating and wouldn't forgive myself if somehting happened to the family.

FYI 285/45/19 are pretty cheap here and they have 50% off shipping. OnlineTires.com - Buy Tires and Wheels Online. Michelin, Goodyear, Dunlop, Bridgestone Tires.

I'm really tempted to buy these, but the load rating of 107 is 50lbs less then the recommended 108. We're talking $670.00 shipped, am I really risking anything by going to a load of 107? I don't tow and rarely haul anything of significant weight. Suggestions...help?

Have you checked the wear rating? Cheap tires might not last too long.
Mine should last 60 k and after 20 k they still look like new.
something to think about too.

It's rated at 300 so it is in the 'good' range.

285/45VR19 107V SL
Load Index 107 = 2149lbs (975kg) per tire
Speed Rating “V” = 149mph (240kph)
Treadwear: 300
Traction: A
Temperature: A300 A A
51 psi max

Thanks for the help guys, I've never kept a vehicle long enough to have to purchase tires so I'm very ignorant about this topic.
