I just ordered Hankook DynaPro ATM RF10 P265/65R-18. I have not received them yet.

Am I hearing that the max is 265/60/18?

I thought someone on a prior post said the max for this tire is 265/65 on 18 inch rim.

I have a 2005 Touareg with air suspension.

Andrew,

I had a set of the 265/65s ordered from Discount as of yesterday, they called back today to tell me that their inventory online was incorrect and they are actually out of stock for "at least 2 weeks"... I opted for 285/60 Terra Grappler's and to run 5mm spacers on the front...

The 265/65s will fit all Touareg's although you will have rubbing on diesels

Anand... Thanks for the reply. Glad to hear that they will fit.

I originally ordered from Discount Tire Direct and got a call saying that they were out of stock. Not sure why they don't update their website.

I got lucky and found 4 tires at Gripston - Welcome yesterday.

US member had 65 profile I have 60 profile. I have my doubts with 65 as they may rub the front intercooler slats inside the front end of the wheel well. 60 gets no rub.

31.6 inches is the safe max diameter on a 265/70/17 and 265/65/18 is identical in width and diameter so you should be ok.

Here are 265/60 18's on my 2008 V10. Goodyear lists this tire at 30.5"

265/60 18 Silent Armors

You would not be able to step up to the 65 profile version of these tires without modifications on a 2008 V10.

Also, the wheel well liner on my 2008 does not seem to have the give, or extra space behind the intercooler vents that earlier ones do for the 'screw mod': 295/45R20 They fit!

I saw a recent post where someone fitted 5mm spacers to sort that - they could still use the exisitng wheel studs too.

If anything I would say the 5mm spacers I needed to fit my 285/60/18s are causing more rubbing (by moving the wheel outwards), as I have rubbing on the back of the fender liner (nearest the doors) at 1/2 to 3/4 turn; very light contact (although, you can hear/feel it)
