2010 Touareg VR6: 19" terra wheel proper PSI

I have a new to me 2010 VR6 Touareg that came with Lux package so I have the 19" Terra wheels. The tires on the car have a max PSI of 50.

The Tyre Pressure Warning light is illuminated on the dash, as well as the alert on the screen. I filled all 4 tires to 45 PSI and it didn't fix it. I always remembered the front tires should be lower than rear for braking purposes so I think I should let some air out of front. However, the sensor still says they are low even with 45 in all.

What is the correct PSI for my wheels and tire combo?

Thanks!

33 Front
39 Back

+ - 2-3 sets off alarm.

At least that is what mine is though yours is pre CANBUS.

Thanks. Is this even for the 19" wheels?

I've read elsewhere 41 front 46 rear... big discrepancy between that and your suggestion

Mine's 39 front and 49 rear, but that's for 20" tires. I run my winter tires at 30/40

The placard on the door jam should have proper tire inflation. I have the same wheels as you and mine says 39 psi front and 46 PSI rear.

For 2014-on Touaregs, T4, in Europe with 265/50 R19 tyres, 33/33 front/back are the recommended pressures - the 2010-2013, T3, ran 33/36.

I run at 33/33 - for my winter 235/65 R17 tyres I run 34/36 despite VW's recommendation of 33/33 for those as well.

Fully laden figures are higher.

FYI only ;

Every Touareg ever built has been equipped with a CAN-BUS network structure. Units built before 2008 were based upon Bosch CAN Bus version 1.6, where as all units built after that date are based upon the Version 2.0 release of the CAN Bus framework.

The OP has a 2010 and it is a T2, at least in North America.

Once again, it is best to look at the placard on your door jam to determine what the proper tire inflation should be.
