hello again,
few weeks ago I picked up set of OEM 20'' Cayenne sport techno wheels, i posted about it but now decided to start the new thread about complete ''makeover'' of rimes and fitting new tires, I payed very low price for the rimes but they where in very poor condition, deep scratches everywhere and curb rash on all of them, so the only way to bring them back to life was to sandblast them as i did with my spare set of 18'' manhattans.
so I'm gonna post every step before and after photos. BTW rimes are repainted and ready, in few days im gonna put them on :)

after sandblasging

i think sandblasting is the bast way of removing old clear coat, paint, primer and all you are left with is bear alloy with ruff ( ideal ) surface for primer coat, 1 tip after sandblasting use dry compressed air to remove all the dust and spray on primer as soon as possible to avoid long term contact with air as the oxidation (rusting) begins cause there is nothing protecting the alloy rimes.

spacers and extended bolts

after tons and tons of research, and contacting few members I decided to put on Cooper Zeon LTZ 285/50/20 OD 31,3 now because this size is a bit bigger then stock its very critical to calculate rim offset and if it will be possible to fit those big tires, the rim specs as i said earlier is 20x9J ET60mm, im gonna need at least 8mm spacers to not touch the upper control arm nut, I ordered 10mm. these are hub centric 5x130 71,6 spacers from amazon, i was searching for Cayenne as it was showing more results. and they are the same bolt pattern as touareg.
also i bought 20 extended lug bolts as the stock bolts are not long enough for 10mm spacers

thank you, but why would you think that? these spacers are hub centric but unfortunately not wheel centric, i was trying to fine hub and wheel centric 10mm for reasonable price but no luck, but these are still very good, its a perfect fit on the hub, the center bore is 71,6mm as i should be :)

quick update: so i put around 500 miles on this wheel and tire setup and im very happy, the ride comfort is exactly the same as on stock 255/55/18, as the sidewall of the tire is exactly the same. the handling is sharper and more stable, and the tire noise is much less then hankook Dynapro RF10, hope it will stay in same way, after 1 week took off 10mm and replaced them with 12mm ones, these are hub+wheel centric ones. it gave a bit more aggressive look, i also filled them with nitrogen.

Nice...... :)
But do yourself a favour and lose those Porsche centre caps.....
Plenty of VW ones available and should be a straight swap out.

i went from 10mm to 12mm, 10mm ones were hub centric, i had no problem with them, i wanted to have a little wider look and also ho have more room for upper suspension nut, i was not touching but it was only 3-4mm space so to be on the safe side i swapped for 12mm
these 12mm are hub and wheel centric, i have no problem with these either :)
