How did they crack your account? I have received spam emails from people saying that eBay needs to update your account, but I am not stupid and have forwarded them to the Fraud department.

Normally I would agree...but in this case it was literally an hour after I had won the auction, and I hadn't sent any money. I found it too much of a coincidence that I won the auction at a great price (mean a good wholesale price, not a silly unrealistic price), and then suddenly within an hour later there is an epiphany discovery by the user that their account is hacked.

Hey NickM,

Sorry about the lossed purchase / win... that is BS. I've always had good luck buying cars online (in the US), but only look at listings from car dealerships only, no private Ebay sales. Oh well, there's still a bunch more nice Touaregs down there for us to pick up! Maybe you'll find a nice V10?!?

I agree, I find that the dealers are a safer bet, however I have dealt with both and been fine.

Buying out of the US is a crap shoot right now, I am finding it hard to predict the cost of a US dollar.

I can't figure it out either.. I think CDN-US rate is very dependent on oil pricing right now, low oil = low CDN $. Your thoughts?

I am no expert, but the cost of oil, the interest rates on either side of the border and the stock market play big roles in things. The Canadian dollar has stayed stable to the Euro, but the US Dollar seems to be on a roller coaster. I think the Canadian dollar will come back up late this week and next week, as the economy in Canada seems to be stable, were as the US has a lot of uncertainty.

I think it is in everyone's best interest to see the US economy strength and become a little more stable. Canada is very reliant on the US economy (whether we want to admit it or not).

I should have placed my order for the Car parts I wanted last Wednesday, good thing I don't need them until next spring!
