Hello Chesters
Welcome! I have an R5 as well, 2008 model. My life to date economy 14,000km since April is 12.2 l per km. My best is 9.3 l per km and worst is 15.5 l per km. The engine is still running in, I expect a slight improvement over time. We do a lot of short distance 3-4km cold engine trips mixed in with highway travel overall 50/50. However my wife drives it like she stole it! I use normal diesel however I am thinking of using premium. Best of luck with your new vehicle. Carson

V8 gas guy here, but just for grins, here's the breakdown...I do the math correctly (or approximately) you're getting 12.2 liters per 100 km, or 3.2 gallons per 62 miles. Which yields about 19.5 miles per gallon. Is that really that efficient for a diesel in this truck?

Chesters Old Boy
I have a 2006 R5 2.5 which has just hot 55,000 km's. I drive a lot in the country and some in the city and my economy ranges between 9.5 l/100 km and 10.4 l/100 km...so on average 9.95 l/100 km equals 28.38 mpg. The quickest way to covert is to divide 282.48 by l/100km. willis 5456 |

Let also not forget we are talking imperial measures here NOT USA measurements..therefore 12.2 l/100 km is in fact 23.15 mpg NOT 19.5 mpg

All of the above are using actual real consumption calculations not the MFD. Carson
